The Past

Shortly after World War II, three brothers arrived in the small coastal town of Lady's Island, S.C. The brothers joined forces and opened Beaufort Supply Company, a small lumber and building supply business. In 1946, the brothers partnered again and started the general contracting company still known today as Mitchell Brothers, Incorporated.

The Present

Today, Mitchell Brothers, Inc. is an award winning government contracting company. We have successfully completed hundreds of projects for multiple military installations in Beaufort, S.C. and the surrounding areas. We remain family owned and operated and are headquartered only a few miles from our original office building. Three generations of the Mitchell family continue to work for and improve Mitchell Brothers, Inc. every day.

We are heavily invested in our community and strive to positively contribute to the lives of our friends and neighbors. Mitchell Brothers, Inc. is a current member of both the Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Lady's Island Business and Professional Association. We sponsor many community events including Military Appreciation Day and financially contribute to United Way, Beaufort Memorial Hospital, area churches, schools, and other local organizations.

Supporting our local economy is also important to us. On average, we employ 45 people from Beaufort and Hampton counties. In addition, we buy our materials from local suppliers and vendors and use local subcontractors.

The Future

We are fortunate to have the relationship we have with both the U.S. Navy and Marines. They have enabled us to grow and improve faster than we could have on our own. We look forward to working for our country and our community for many generations to come.
